I guess I've been lucky enough to avoid it until now. The church service had gone quite well until we reached the closing hymn. Shine Jesus Shine played on the pipe organ. As if the choice of that particular song wasn't enough, it had to be played on the least suitable instrument for it, making it sound like a herd of elephants. Rest assured, I raised quite a fuss.

No, but there was some kind of elephant stomp motion going on in the pedals. ;-)
I only heard the first few bars because I got out of there fast. :P
I've sat through hearing that song played on an organ. Many times. It made me want to commit suicide. I'd rather listen to a dying whale then that. I would rather listen to my dog bark so loud as to make my eardrums explode. I think I would prefer being deaf than hearing that song played on an organ again.
It's not a bad song, I just can't imagine it on an organ.
